Timber Shutters Mounting & Frames

Shutters can be mounted outside the window opening or inside. To decide which is right for you, talk to our windows covering consultation team by calling 1300 799 952 or fill out the contact from to have us call back.

L frame or hinge only

We would recommend mounting shutters inside the window when you have decorative trim or molding around your window. With an inside mount, shutters will attach directly to your window frame with hinges or to a small slab shutter frame. This is sometimes called an “L” frame. There are three different sizes of L frame for you to choose from small to large.

Decorative L frame and Z Frame

If you do not have decorative molding around your window, or your molding is worn out, it is a good idea to choose an outside mount which has built-in molding that will give your window a finished look. It can be an “L” frame goes outside your window opening, or even better “Z” frame overlaps the corners of your windows as well.
